MEET LISA WILCOX
Hello, my name is Lisa Wilcox. I would like to share with you a few events in my life that have led to Greater Things for Moms.
I began working in the field of learning disabilities in 1986 in a diagnostic and prescriptive, testing and remediation center under Diagnostician, Patricia A. Green, M.Ed. It was here that I was introduced to the plasticity of the brain as I worked with clients ages 3 to 67 strengthening auditory, visual, and haptic channels, reading comprehension, and cognition. It was also here that I took part in my first workshop for moms.
In 1989, two life-changing events occurred for me. I became a mother, which began my immersion and everyday application in Infant Training, and I also began working at H.I.S. Academy/Institute, a private K - 12 school designed to train the hemispheres of the brain, instruct academically, and specialize in the individual needs of the children. To date, I have had the honor and privilege of serving the staff, students, and parents of H.I.S. Academy/Institute all 30 years of its existence and have taught all grade levels.
It was from my years of working with children diagnosed with learning disabilities that I saw the need for earlier intervention. I observed that while some obstacles to learning were neurological, most appeared preventable, and all have hope. In fact, our culture lends itself to creating struggling learners. So, I began Greater Things for Moms in October of 2012 as a class where I shared techniques, information, and strategies for training children spirit, soul, and body. I have seen first-hand what today's mothers are up against. The job of raising, training, and teaching our children is large, but it is still true that "many hands make the load light". So, come and join us and let us lighten your load! A class of this nature is usually costly, but local businesses and ministries have already lightened your load by paying the price for you. Now all you have to do is click the register tab and sign up. I look forward to seeing you there.
Let's Learn Together!
